Italian cop shoots wife then commits suicide

A policeman in southern Italy used his service gun to kill his wife before committing suicide, local media reported on Friday.
Louis Chiumiento, 44, shot 41-year-old Raffaella Ranauro in her car in the southern city of Benevento earlier today, local newspaper il Quaderno reported.
Chiumiento then shot himself in the head, the newspaper said.
The incident happened in a busy area of the city during lunchtime and so there were numerous witnesses.
Chiumiento’s colleagues attended the scene and the newspaper said that friends of the couple, who had three children, were unable to explain the tragedy.
