Teen kills himself after slot machine gamble

A 19-year-old boy from the island of Ischia in the Gulf of Naples took his own life on Thursday after spending all his family's money on a slot machine, regional daily Il Mattino reported.
His body was found by fishermen early Thursday morning, alongside a note addressed to his mother, apologizing for having squandered the family's money the night before.
The suicide prompted calls to the local authorities to ban slot machines in the island, which lies at the northern end of the gulf of Naples.
