85-year-old Sicilian set to graduate

Carmelo Puglisi will become Italy's second-oldest graduate on Tuesday when he completes his three-year diploma at the University of Messina in Sicily.
Puglisi, a retired lawyer, wrote the thesis entitled: 'In the Early Days of European Identity: Romans and Barbarians in the Germany of Tacitus', reported the website, Uninews24.it.
Puglisi follows in the footsteps of 86-year-old Anna Valanzuola from Naples, who just a few days ago graduated from the city’s Federico II University with a degree in literature.
