An insurance form has been filed by Gandolfini’s family claiming someone stole the €2,250 watch from his room at Boscolo Exedra Roma Hotel, La Stampa reported on Thursday, quoting the US gossip website, TMZ.

While no suspect is mentioned in the form, the family believes someone may have taken the watch in the hours after he died of a heart attack. There was also no damage to the room or mention of a forced entry.

Gandolfini was found having a heart attack in his room by a family member on June 20th. The 51-year-old had been due to attend Taormina’s Film Festival in Sicily a few days after.
