World's best pizza comes home to Naples

After being named the world's best pizza maker at a competition in Naples this week, Davide Civitiello reveals the secrets of his success to The Local.
“The secret for a delicious pizza is to have passion and love for what you do,” Civitiello told The Local, after beating 500 people from 47 countries to the top spot.
“I didn’t expect to win and above all I’m so happy because as I always say, sacrifice brings rewards,” he said.
As a native of Naples, the home of Pizza, Civitiello may have had an advantage. But competition is fierce - participants have no more than 10 minutes to make a pizza - and Civitiello is the first person from Naples to win in eight years.
Despite being just 29, he has already been making pizza for two decades. He decided to make a living out of his passion for pizza from the age of 14.
He has worked in Copenhagen, New York and Tokyo, although can now be found making the best pizza in the world back home in Naples.
