Police investigating the death of an 18-year-old in northern Italy believe that the teen was the victim of a “horrific” premeditated murder, and subsequent necrophilia, after finding a lover’s video.

A 41-year-old accountant, Andrea Pizzocolo, was arrested on Saturday after the naked body of Lavinia Simona Ailoaiei was found by a farmer in Lodi, Lombardy. The 18-year-old had plastic ties around her neck and was naked but for a towel from a motel, which allowed investigators to retrace her steps and quickly link her to Pizzocolo.

Early theories suggested Ailoaiei died when a sex game with Pizzocolo went wrong, although a video found in his car suggests the crime was planned. During a court hearing on Tuesday, the public prosecutor of Lodi described the crime as “horrific” and charged Pizzocolo with premeditated murder, torture and obscene acts on a corpse, Corriere della Sera reported.

Investigators also found hundreds of other videos at Pizzocolo’s home showing scenes of violence against women, suggesting there may be other victims, Tgcom24 reported.

Pizzocolo was arrested at his home on Saturday night, after police found traces of blood and women’s hair in a motel room he booked the night before.

According to early reports, he met Ailoaiei over the internet and the pair met at the Moon motel in Lombardy on 4th September. The couple returned to the same motel two days later, where Ailoaiei was reportedly suffocated to death during a sex game.

Pizzocolo then drove to another motel, Silk, with her body, where he checked into a room and had sex with Ailoaiei’s corpse, Corriere reported.

While Pizzocolo allegedly confessed to the crime over the weekend, the newspaper said he is now staying silent.
