Around-the-clock room service, a view over Italy’s stunning scenery, a private chauffeur. What more could you want? One hotelier in northern Italy thinks they've come up with the answer - by inviting your pets to come and stay.

From next month the Grand Hotel Villa Torretta, on the edge of Milan, will be hosting cats and dogs in its Pet Suite Home.

While human guests relax in their fresco-filled quarters of the 17th-century hotel, their furry friends will soon be able to enjoy their own slice of the high life.

Each pet hotel room is filled with all the mod cons, such as a dog house or cat basket and space for scratching ones claws.

Claustrophobic cats and dogs can also take advantage of the animal limousine service, enjoy some pet pampering or make friends with the cat and dog sitter.
