For a look inside this week’s property, we take you to the paradise shores of the Costa Smeralda, a stretch of coastline in northern Sardinia developed in the early 1960s by the Agha Khan, the spiritual leader of Ismaili Muslims worldwide.

Since then the coastline has become a playground for the rich and famous, but there are slightly less pretentious parts to enjoy.

This week’s property is in Porto Rotondo, a less famous resort than its more glamorous neighbour Porto Cervo, but also considered to be more attractive and a haven for yacht cruising.

The villa comes with six bedrooms, a guest annexe, swimming pool, squash court and billiards room.

Should you tire of Porto Rotonda, there are three small islands close by – Isola Soffi, Isola Le Camere and Isola Mortorio – which form part of the Maddalena Archipelgo National Park.

The villa is marketed by Knight Frank but it doesn’t come with a publicly listed price, so we’ll leave it up to you to decide what it’s worth.
