A bar in the centre of Florence has sparked controversy after posting a job advertisement for three baristas that comes with a strict requirement: "No foreigners or southern Italians".

The advert, posted on eBay on April 2nd, seeks three baristas for a “prestigious” bar in the city’s historic centre.

Candidates must come with a knowledge of English and the food and wine sector, as well as have a great passion for what they do.

But the two things they must not be are from abroad or southern Italy.

This message is clearly placed in capital letters beneath the job description: NO STRANIERI O SUD ITALIA.
