A Rome taxi driver has come up with a novel way of melting away the stresses of the capital's traffic, while striking a chord with passengers as they tour the Eternal City: karaoke.

Those who take taxi rides in Rome might be more accustomed to a crackling radio and drivers lamenting the traffic.

That is unless you’ve been lucky enough to board Emanuele Della Seta’s cab.

Armed with a library of songs, Della Seta offers his customers the chance to belt out their favourite tune.

He then films the performance, with his passengers’ knowledge, and posts the best ones on YouTube on his channel ilduca40.

Della Seta put together a series of clips in a video, with tourists and locals singing everything from Italian ballads and the song that has lifted spirits worldwide – Pharrell Williams’ Happy – to Kool & The Gang’s Get Down on It.

Do you recognize yourself or anyone else in the video published on the Repubblica website below?
