Balotelli gets engaged on Brazil beach
Italian striker Mario Balotelli has proposed to his girlfriend Fanny Neguesha ahead of the World Cup football tournament starting on Thursday, the AC Milan player announced on Tuesday.
Balotelli turned to social media app Instagram to announce news of the engagement, with a photograph of the Brazilian beach where he proposed and his wife-to-be’s ring.
“She said yes.. The most important yes in my life. That was the place of my question! I Love you and happy birthday too ! Je t'aime my WIFE ❤,” the Italian footballer said.
The news went down well with fans, with more than 41,000 people clicking “like” on the image.
Balotelli arrived in Brazil along with the rest of the Italy squad on June 5th, ahead of the tournament getting underway on Thursday.
There was little time for romance after the striker’s proposal, as he was back with him teammates for training today in Rio de Janeiro.
Italy will face England in its first game of the tournament on Saturday, in Manaus in central Brazil.
