Clooney to marry in Venice in September
George Clooney said on Sunday he will marry his fiancée, Amal Alamuddin, in Venice later this month.
Speaking during Celebrity Fight Night, a charity fundraiser held in Florence, Clooney confirmed reports that he will wed in Italy.
“I met my lovely bride to be here in Italy, whom I will be marrying, in a couple of weeks, in Venice, of all places,” he was quoted in People magazine as saying.
The film star’s statement confirms a report earlier this year of his chosen wedding location, while dispelling rumours that the ceremony could be held on the shores of Lake Como.
Clooney owns a home in the lakeside village of Laglio, where he has been made an honorary citizen.
