Man finds suitcase stuffed with jewellery
What would you do if you stumbled on a suitcase stuffed with jewellery? This was the dilemma facing one Italian man recently.
The 32-year-old found the piece of luggage in Viale della Repubblica in Valenza, after leaving work on Tuesday evening, La Stampa reported.
After spotting the suitcase on the ground, he decided to look inside. The glittering contents of the case included gold wedding rings, bracelets, earrings, and diamonds.
However, the upstanding citizen didn't think twice. He immediately headed for the nearest police station – where he handed the suitcase over to the the authorities.
The citizen's honesty spared the blushes of a goldsmith from Como who had reported the suitcase missing just a few hours before and had already given up hope of ever getting it back.
It was not just good news for the goldsmith. The piece of luggage contained several wedding rings that his clients had commissioned for their special day.
