A man is in a critical condition after jumping from the second floor of the Indonesian embassy building in Rome when a fire broke out on Wednesday morning.

The man, reported to be an embassy employee, leapt from an apartment inside the building, a firefighter source told Ansa.

He is said to have jumped “in panic” when the blaze, the cause of which is yet unknown, erupted at the embassy on Rome's Via Campania.
