Delta jet declares emergency upon landing in Rome

A Delta Airlines flight from New York declared an emergency during the landing phase in Rome on Wednesday morning.
The emergency on the DL44 flight was declared due to a technical problem, Il Messaggero reported.
The jet, which left New York's JFK at 8.41pm EDT on Tuesday after a 40-minute delay, landed safely at 10.33am at Rome's Fiumicino airport.
"The plane landed without incident and the passengers disembarked normally," Delta Airlines said in a statement.
