Over half a million jobs created in third quarter

Over 500,000 new jobs were created in the third quarter of this year compared to the previous year, according to figures released on Wednesday by Italy's labour ministry.
Some 543,000 jobs arose during the quarter, up by 93,000 over the second quarter of 2016, the data from INPS, the social security and pensions agency, showed.
The majority of the jobs - 489,000 - were for permanent roles while 54,000 were on temporary contracts.
Italy's unemployment rate stood at 11.6 percent as of October.
