The body of a 90-year-old man remained undiscovered between the tracks at a Turin train station for more than 48 hours, local media has reported.

Girolamo De Moro’s body was spotted by a driver at Settimo Torinese train station while doing a manoeuvre, Torino Today reported.

De Moro went missing on Monday, the news website said, and is believed to have been hit by a train.

He was said to have been identified by his walking stick, which was found nearby.
