The storm struck the town of Dolo, between Venice and Padua on the Riviera della Brenta, causing destruction within minutes, Corriere reported.
The tornado lifted a car off the ground, killing the driver on impact as it fell down.
At least fifty buildings lost their rooftops, Corriere said.
Over thirty others were injured, but not seriously. An eight-year-old girl managed to escape burns after being struck by lightning at her relatives’ home in Carnia.
