France's decision to reintroduce Schengen border checks will have an impact on travellers from neighbouring countries including Spain, Switzerland, Italy and Germany.

This is complete rubbish as any illegal immigrants will simply avoid the main roads and cross into France on one of the thousands of little tiny roads in the countryside so this is just absolute rubbish. All it’s going to do is make travelling more difficult and imposed delays on those people travelling for holidays or work.

Is a British citizen resident in Spain and holding a TIE obliged to carry a passport when travelling from Spain into France? While the TIE is an ID card issued in an EU country, it does not imply dual nationality and is, by definition, held by a non-EU citizen

    Residency cards such as the French carte de séjour and the Spanish TIE are not travel documents, so non-EU citizens such as Brits need a passport in order to cross borders
