There have been reports in Italy of long queues at airports as passengers undergo the EU's new EES biometric border checks. We want to hear from you. Take a minute to tell us your own experience of travelling through Italy.

As the EU continues to roll out its EES biometric border checks there are reports of long queues at airports and machines not being able to take fingerprints or facial scans.

We want to hear from readers to find out the situation on the ground in Italy.

How bad have queues been for passengers? Is the technology working as it should? Are passengers confused? Please tell us in this quick survey below. If the question does not appear below, click here.

At Torino airport on Monday returning to London, automatic passport gates now set to default against ALL UK passports so unable to even enter EC passport gates, despite having valid Permesso. Usual inexperienced airport staff gesticulate and shout at all UK passport holders to join very long queue to alternative (single) custom officer and point blank refuse to acknowledge lawfulness of Permesso. In desperation at length of UK queue I approached EC passport gates and caught attention of Passport Officer to explain I had a Permesso; he accepted immediately (with a smile) and switched off default on gates to allow me to enter (empty) EC gates. Simple. Surely airport authorities can provide some basic training to airport staff?

I'm a permanent Resident, but have to remind the people at the gate so they can refer me to the correct line. it's fast and efficient, as long as they know which gate to send me.
