The low-cost carrier plans to add 11 domestic and international routes from Milan Malpensa, Naples and Catania as part of a broader European expansion effort, Chief Commercial Officer Ian Malin announced at the Routes Europe 2026 aviation conference in Rimini earlier this week.
New Wizz Air destinations from Malpensa include Santander, Zaragoza, Porto and Agadir starting from mid-September, according to airline publication ARGS.
From Naples International Airport, the airline plans to add flights to Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao from December 14th and up the frequency of its Naples-Venice service from 11 to 14 flights per week.
At Catania-Fontanarossa Airport, Wizz Air will add a Porto route from October 27th and three daily flights to Rome Fiumicino starting on December 14th, as well as new flights to Valencia and Alicante.

The airline also plans to introduce three new routes from Salerno Costa d’Amalfi airport, which opened to commercial passengers in 2024, by 2027, it confirmed, with up to six routes scheduled by 2030.
To support the expansion, the company is adding three new Airbus A321neo planes to its fleet, one at each of Malpensa, Naples and Catania airports.
Malin reportedly said Italy was a key part of Wizz Air's renewed Europe focus following the closure of its Abu Dhabi base last year.
“Italy is in many respects an extension of our core territory, which is our central Eastern European strategy”, he said.
