TELL US: Do you need to speak fluent Italian to live in Italy?

One of the most difficult parts of moving to a foreign country is learning the language. So it's no wonder that it's one of the most talked about experiences among internationals in Italy.

But the topic of foreigners' language skills (or lack of them) is also a hot button issue in politics, with Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara recently proposing making language classes mandatory for parents of foreign schoolchildren.

There is also regular chat among internationals – and on social media sites like Reddit – on whether you can get by in Italy with little to no Italian.
